My story

Christian Aid's groundbreaking work began 80 years ago, in 1945, when it was founded by British and Irish churches to help refugees following the Second World War.

For 80 years, it has provided humanitarian relief and long-term development support for poor communities worldwide, while highlighting suffering, tackling injustice and championing people’s rights.

This year it is focusing on how climate change is affecting the poorest - often those who have done the least to damage the environment.  Farmers like Aurelia who are learning, with the help of local Christian Aid partners, how to use drought resistant varieties and work with the soil using a mixture of old and new farming techniques to farm sustainably.

This Christian Aid Week, please give to help make a fairer, more just world for those who have so little.

How your money helps

This Christian Aid Week, you can support communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis.

In places like Guatemala, extreme weather is destroying crops, deepening hunger and threatening livelihoods. But with the right tools and training, farmers can build sustainable futures.

Every pound you raise could help:

  • Provide climate-resilient seeds to help families grow food.
  • Fund water conservation techniques to protect crops.
  • Support vital training so farmers can build a sustainable future.
