My story

As part of this year's Christian Aid Week, the Templebreedy Parishes in the Diocese ofCork, Cloyne and Ross (Church of Ireland) are continuing to raise funds for some of the most challenged  communities in the world.

In places like Guatemala, farmers like Aurelia are fighting back against extreme weather that’s destroying their crops and food sources. Despite these challenges, they are learning new skills to grow resilient crops and protect their families from hunger.

Your support can help fund the vital training these farmers need. Please give what you can to help families like Aurelia’s build a sustainable future.

Excellent tea!

Some 60 or so people gathered at the Rectory for a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon on Saturday 31 May - a particularly appropriate day as the Church celebrates the Visitation of Mary to her cousin Elizabeth: meeting together is as important as fundraising!. So far €1225 has been raised both through this page and by cash donation. It would be wonderful to reach €1500! This page will now remain open to see if we can achieve that goal.

First donation received!

Congratulations! This activity has received its first donation!

How your money helps

This Christian Aid Week, you can support communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis.

In places like Guatemala, extreme weather is destroying crops, deepening hunger and threatening livelihoods. But with the right tools and training, farmers can build sustainable futures.

Every pound you raise could help:

  • Provide climate-resilient seeds to help families grow food.
  • Fund water conservation techniques to protect crops.
  • Support vital training so farmers can build a sustainable future.
