My story

Christian Aid is celebrating its 80th anniversary and we are raising money for it’s vital work.

To join in that celebration Trinity Methodist Church, Loughborough is forming a team to walk a total of 80 laps of Charnwood Water on 27th September.  Please sponsor us to help us reach our fundraising target.

Christian Aid exists to create a world where everyone can live a full life, free from poverty. Their groundbreaking work began in 1945, when the charity was founded by British and Irish churches to help refugees following the Second World War.

For 80 years, Christian Aid has provided humanitarian relief and long-term development support for poor communities worldwide, while highlighting suffering, tackling injustice and championing people’s rights.

They work in 25 countries and fund 410 projects across Africa, Asia, Europe, Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean.

How your money helps

This Christian Aid Week, you can support communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis.

In places like Guatemala, extreme weather is destroying crops, deepening hunger and threatening livelihoods. But with the right tools and training, farmers can build sustainable futures.

Every pound you raise could help:

  • Provide climate-resilient seeds to help families grow food.
  • Fund water conservation techniques to protect crops.
  • Support vital training so farmers can build a sustainable future.
